Who We Are!

Montessori Virtual School was founded by two passionate Montessori educators, mothers who came together with a shared vision that high quality, Montessori education could be delivered through a virtual school enabling families to have access to child centred education from anywhere in the world!

The journey began at our children’s school, where we quickly discovered a shared passion for Montessori education and a desire to make it more available to families like ours; international, mobile, and seeking a meaningful alternative to traditional schooling.

Our Team

Joanne Kaya

has over 20 years of experience in Montessori education and is AMI-trained for children aged 3–6 and 6–12. Her Montessori journey began in Japan, where she first stepped into a Montessori classroom and was struck by the independence, joy, and curiosity she saw in the children. That experience led to a lifelong commitment to Montessori education. Joanne has worked around the world, including playing a key role in founding and building a Montessori school in Moscow. In recent years, she has focused on supporting families through homeschooling consultancy and mentoring Montessori teachers. For the past five years, she has brought her expertise to the online space, witnessing firsthand how authentic Montessori principles can thrive in a virtual format.

Carly Gregory

started her career working in Human Resources and discovered Montessori after having her youngest two children. She quickly became passionate about Montessori at home as in education. In 2021 she decided to take the AMI 3-6 Diploma at the International Montessori Institute in Delft.

Together, we founded Montessori Virtual School to offer a globally minded, community-rich Montessori education that fits today’s families, especially those who travel, relocate frequently, or homeschool. Our goal is to combine the flexibility of online learning with the structure, connection, and depth of a real Montessori classroom.
